For the 2024 edition of Skopje Jazz Festival, KOMA Design Studio, in collaboration with Apostol Tnokovski, was commissioned to design the official festival poster, continuing the festival’s tradition of distinctive and conceptually driven visual identities. The project was later recognized with a Silver award at the Graphis Poster Awards.​

Context

Skopje Jazz Festival is an internationally recognized music festival held in Skopje since 1982. The 2024 poster was conceived to visually translate the rhythm, energy and emotional intensity of jazz, while remaining consistent with the festival’s established visual identity across print and digital platforms.

Approach

Starting from a 2D trumpet illustration, the design evolved into a 3D composition developed through extensive modeling and rendering. A fine, tactile surface texture was introduced to evoke the physical sensation of goosebumps, resulting in the final artwork “The Bristling Textile Trumpet.”

Why it mattered​

The festival reached full capacity on all event days, with the poster gaining strong visibility both on-site and across digital platforms. Its large-scale projection on stage reinforced the festival’s visual presence, continuing its tradition of bold and memorable design.
