About us

Towards a Safe and Healthy Working Environment in North Macedonia is a European Union-funded project implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
The project supports the country’s efforts to ensure that every worker enjoys the fundamental right to a safe and healthy working environment, in line with international labour standards and the process of alignment with the EU acquis.

With a duration of 42 months (2025–2028), the initiative contributes to building a strong, preventive, and sustainable national system for occupational safety and health (OSH). It works in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Labour, the State Labour Inspectorate, the National OSH Council, the Institute of Public Health, trade unions, employers’ organisations, and other OSH institutions.

Macedonia. The project works with national institutions, employers’ and workers’ organizations to improve laws, inspection, data, and education related to OSH.
